Field Operations Engineer - wireless networks

Our client is a new venture company emerging as a leading provider of wireless solutions for tele-management of energy networks.

The role is a combination of system installation, commissioning and customer support. We are looking for an experienced Field Engineer who is prepared to get involved in a wide range of different engineering disciplines from radio system deployment to database and web software, and from practical hands on engineering in the field to providing customers with training and support.

Key skills and experience:-
o Experience of design or deployment of wireless communication infrastructure.
o Experience of design, management, test and support of large IT or telemetry systems.
o Specific technical experience of the following will be considered an advantage:
- Linux network management
- Database and web based systems (we use Firebird and apache)
- Radio systems design, planning or deployment
o An enthusiastic team player, but be able to work independently
o Have good communications skills, and be prepared to work in customer facing roles
o Have good organisation skills
o Technically qualified with an engineering degree
