Project Manager - wireless products

Salary: to circa £60k + benefits
Our client designs, develops and supplies mobile communications
products for key market sectors. It has customers in Europe,
Australasia, Asia, Southern America and the Middle East and a
growing network of international distributors and partners cover all
corners of the globe.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a record of
achievement in the management of complex radio terminal product
developments. As a Project Manager you will be responsible for
planning, monitoring and controlling all aspects of the development
from initial design through to acceptable yield on volume
manufacture. Typical project durations range from 9 to 18 months and
are executed in matrix organisation, involving team sizes of
typically 5 to 15 members.
Key skills and experience:-
o Several years of experience in the execution and successful
delivery of product development and NPI projects involving
real-time, embedded systems.
o Experience with sub-contractor management, preferably with Far
East contractors & suppliers.
o Experience with the improvement of product development and
introduction processes.
o Basic knowledge of wireless communication systems and experience
within the development of wireless terminals.
Ideally experience in working within a company with a project
management office and the establishment of large programme
organisation.
o Preferably trained in project management to a senior project
manager level or higher, with accredited certification through APM,
Prince 2, IPM or equivalent.
o Strong leadership and excellent team working capabilities.
Effective communication, presentation and facilitation skills at all
levels within a company.
o Thorough knowledge of the professional project management process
areas, methodologies and tools and system development processes
o Willingness to travel (Europe and Far-East)
o Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing or a
similar subject.
