Our client designs, develops and supplies handheld and mobile terminals for key market sectors. It has customers in Europe, Australasia, Asia, Southern America and the Middle East and a growing network of international distributors and partners cover all corners of the globe.

We are looking for an experienced Test Manager with a strong commitment to quality and excellence. Reporting to the Development Director, this important new role will bring together, enhance and extend existing quality control functions and will aim to continuously improve product quality by broadening, intensifying and deepening the degree of automation. A major focus will be to drive root-cause-analysis efforts and employ rigorous analysis of existing development, manufacturing and repair data to identify and drive cost-effective improvements.

Key skills and experience:-
o Candidates for this role should have experience and proven knowledge of some or all of the following:
   o Automation of manual software testing - tools, system and scripting methodologies.
   o Configuration management of hardware and software designs.
   o Electrical and mechanical certification regimes.
   o Conformance testing in wireless telecommunications products.
   o Automated mechanical testing.
   o Test database integration and management.
   o Developing and managing systems and processes to implement the above.
o Knowledge of intrinsically-safe requirements and conformance.
o Ability to think at a system level - to understand products & features as a part of a larger whole.
o Proven leadership, team coordination and reporting skills.
o Line management experience of teams of >20-30.
o Passionate about test and uncovering defects as early in the development process as possible.
o Ability to deal with external test houses, certification bodies and security regimes.
o Formal qualifications in quality assurance and quality control.
