Our client designs, develops and supplies handheld and mobile terminals for key market sectors. It has customers in Europe, Australasia, Asia, Southern America and the Middle East and a growing network of international distributors and partners cover all corners of the globe.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Hardware Engineer and Product Architect to join our client's top level design team. As the Hardware Design Authority you will have responsibility for the high level specification and architectural design of new product platforms. You will works closely with all the technical disciplines involved in the project, including hardware design (RF & baseband), mechanical design, software design, manufacturing, ASIC and PCB design.

Key skills and experience:-
o Experience as an overall embedded product Design Authority.
o Experience in the specification of the functionality and performance of product platforms.
o Experience in the architectural design of product platforms, and their breakdown into the various sub-systems.
o An excellent understanding of electronic, RF, mechanical, digital and software design.
o An excellent understanding and appreciation of development processes.
o A good understanding of data security and its impact on design.
o A flexible approach to working in a transient, project-based environment.
o Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a team.
o An ability to assess the trade-offs between development cost and functionality or performance.
o An ability to think at a system level, and understand a product or product feature as a part of a larger system.
o An ability to consider issues from customer and product user perspectives
o Technically qualified with a good degree in electronics, telecommunications or similar.
