Our client designs, develops and supplies handheld and mobile terminals for key market sectors. It has customers in Europe, Australasia, Asia, Southern America and the Middle East, and a growing network of international distributors and partners cover all corners of the globe.

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to work within our client's development team as a System Architect. As a System Architect you will work with the Chief Technology Officer to direct and implement feature enhancements and architectural improvements to the radio software.

Key skills and experience:-
o Extensive experience of embedded, real time software development.
o Experience of architecting and developing significant software sub-systems from inception to completion for wireless communication products.
o Understanding of the full software development life-cycle (from requirements through to system test).
o Knowledge and experience of application execution environments, embedded components including WAP, JAVA, TCP/IP etc.
o Experience of the use of UML and code generation.
o Appreciation of hardware in embedded systems - affect on software architecture.
o Comprehensive understanding of the C programming language.
o Experience of software testing and automated test environments.
o Experience of a variety of configuration management and fault tracking tools.
o Strong leadership and interpersonal skills focussed on getting things done.
o Degree qualified or with equivalent practical experience.
