Our client designs, develops and supplies handheld and mobile terminals for key market sectors where customers require secure private mobile communications networks. It has customers in Europe, Australasia, Asia, Southern America and the Middle East and a growing network of international distributors and partners cover all corners of the globe.
 
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with a track record of success in the development of embedded software in real time systems. As a Software Engineer you will work within our client's TETRA protocol stack software development team in the design of new software solutions and the maintenance of existing code.

Key skills and experience :-
o Experience of embedded software development on real time systems.
o Working knowledge of the TETRA, GSM or UMTS wireless telecoms standards (layer 2/3).
o Comprehensive understanding of the C programming language.
o Experience of software testing (automated component and integration).
o Experience of using configuration management and fault tracking tools.
o Understanding of the full software development life-cycle (from requirements through to system test).
o Experience of UML design (ideally using Rhapsody).
o Experience of encryption techniques and of using SDL, with Telelogic tools is desirable.
o Security Cleared or able to pass UK clearance requirements.
o Technical leadership experience and experience of defining and implementing major architectural improvement to existing software (for senior roles).
o Qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject.
