Principal RF Design Engineer - 3G/LTE wireless technology

Our client is an emerging technology company committed to developing, marketing and becoming a leading supplier of advanced technology to the mobile telecommunications industry.

We are looking for an experienced RF Design Engineer to produce world class design high power RF amplifier designs incorporating our client's technology. As a Principal RF Design Engineer you will also provide technical direction to the engineering team to ensure a full understanding of the product concept, RF requirements, product development priorities and time scales.

Key skills and experience:-
· Experience of 1-3GHz high power single ended and/or balanced linear RF amplifiers using LDMOS and/or GaAs devices.
· Thorough understanding of low impedance matching techniques using microstrip transmission lines.
· Extensive experience and knowledge of system level simulation (e.g. Simulink, Matlab) and PA simulation with e.g. SPICE, Microwave Offcie.
· Knowledge of gain/efficiency/ linearity design trade-offs and design optimisation techniques.
· Working knowledge of RF characteristics of modern modulation standards e.g. WCDMA / OFDM.
· Knowledge of load pull techniques and efficiency enhancement techniques such as Doherty amplifiers would be advantageous.
· Proven technical lead/architect on multiple projects.
· Ideally have developed expertise in an applied research environment.
· Technically qualified to degree level or better.
